Journey Through Ancient Egypt

This lesson, “Journey through Ancient Egypt,” is designed as a 5th-grade social studies lesson on Ancient Egypt. I designed my immersive learning element to serve as a virtual interactive tour of Ancient Egypt, transporting students not only to read facts about the key landmarks but to experience it in VR alongside text/video elements. I used 360° images from 360° Cities to guide students to travel to the following key landmarks: Giza Pyramids, the Great Sphinx, Luxor Temple, a spice market in Cairo, the Tomb of Renni, the Tomb of Ramses IV, Mushroom Rock, and the Nile River. This lesson transforms a traditional textbook lesson design into an engaging, hands-on, sensorial experience for students.

Amplify Reading

Through the personalized design of learning, Amplify Reading aims to achieve the following outcomes: greater retention of reading comprehension strategies/skills (short-term) and greater confidence and transfer of skills when reading unfamiliar texts (long-term). The tool promotes successful transfer of learning through creative application – students will co-create a story through an AI agent that guides students through a structured writing experience (focusing on identifying and creating literary elements).

Parents gain transparency through privacy information on ed tech tools, discover resources to reinforce learning at home, and receive clear communication guides to stay engaged in their child's education. Administrators can leverage ROI analysis to make data-driven investment decisions and access implementation guidance to design effective professional development sessions for educators. Equipped for Discovery

This course provides an essential orientation to the research lifecycle at the University of North Carolina, guiding faculty and researchers through every stage of a sponsored project — from initial idea development to project closeout. Learners will gain a practical understanding of the administrative, fiscal, and compliance infrastructure that supports public scholarship at UNC, including how to work effectively with key campus partners such as the Office of Sponsored Programs, the Office of Human Research Ethics, and the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee. By the end of this course, researchers will be equipped to navigate university systems and resources with confidence, build productive and compliant research teams, and uphold the highest standards of integrity throughout the research enterprise.
